Hello Family and Friends,
So with just a few weeks until I leave things are really starting shape up. I have started buying all my supplies and packing will begin shortly. My mother and I are also getting my big going away party preparations underway! So far Im not scared but Im sure the minute I step foot on African soil I will freak out! I couldnt be more excited than I am...I just wish I wasnt so stressed about getting everything in order before I head out. I have done alot of reading about Morocco and the Peace Corps experience in general and the country sounds absolutley beautiful!
I begin my voyage on September 8th when I fly to Philidelphia for orientation and then on September 10th I fly to Cassablanca. From there I will drive to the capital Rabat where I will have my extensive training for about 3 months. During this time, I will be extremely busy and I am still not sure what my internet access will be like so here is my address so that you can send me your loving thoughts and encouragement :)
At this time large packages are not supposed to be sent also please do NOT send cash or anything of great value.

From what I have read, your best chances are to send letters etc, in small brown envelopes and supposedly if you write 'teaching materials' on the front the chances of all its contents getting to me greatly increases. Also including an inventory of what was included in the package will help me make sure that every thing arrived properly. Letters from home are a huge source of morale and sanity when in the Peace Corps so I truly hope I have all your support and wise words.
I miss you all already and I am so excited that you will get to be part of the journey with me. I will keep you posted!
:)
